Are you moving well?

The importance of movement efficiency is so critical in power sports. Why? Because it can mean the difference in getting away from opponent or getting to opponenent with ease. If your muscles are too inflexible, then you are not maximizing your speed, quickness and agility to their full potential. Thus power will not be initiated to its full potential. Make sense?

The major muscle groups and small stabilizer muscles of the hip, ankle, and shoulder should be "prepped" with various movements before any game or practice. This also applies to speed workouts and weight training sessions. The time spent on preparing your body for movement will time WELL invested. It must be performed on a consistent basis throughout your athletic career even recreationally. Your performance on the field, court, ice, and golf course will dramatically incease by performing these exercises.

As I had mentioned earlier, it will serve as a precursor to increasing your speed, agility, and quickness. Not to mention improvements in balance and trunk strength. The result: the ability to create power will be much more enhanced and that is what you are striving for!
