The Importance of Mobility

I wish to briefly touch base on the importance of mobility. If you have noticed on my website articles and some of my past newsletters, that I have talked about the significance of movement preparation of some kind.

Without good mobility in your joints ie..hip, shoulder and ankle, your performance will NOT be at the level it should be at.

You may not even notice because you may be a good athlete and have not really thought about your ankle stiffness or tight shoulders or why the outside of your hip is always tight.

But just imagine if you kept blowing off these nagging feelings. What will happen?

Well, funny thing. Mother nature has a way of keeping us honest.

So, if you want to keep accelerating on the field with your tight hips, your next sprint could result in a bad hamstring pull or worse. Is it worth it?

Believe me when I tell you that myself and other sports performance specialists I know that have worked with some professional athletes, couldn't believe how poor their hip or ankle mobility was after putting them through a series of mobility exercises.

No wonder they had chronic injuries and multiple surgeries.

Anyway, I just want to share an article I wrote back in September for my friend Patrick Beith that was posted on his website. It is one of many ways to increase mobility.
